WIN BIOLOGIST
Never regard study as a duty but as the enviable opportunity to learn
-Albert Einstein-
I had the opportunity to present my research at the ISBE 2024 Congress in Melbourne, Australia (Sep 29 - Oct 4, 2024). I delivered an oral presentation on sexual selection in Neoclinus fishes and a poster presentation on the behavior of "parading" freshwater shrimp. This congress provided an invaluable platform for sharing insights with fellow researchers and exploring new perspectives in behavioral ecology.
I gave seminar talks at Australia National University, Canberra, Australia. (Sep 23-27, 2024)
I was promoted to Assistant Professor in Biology on July 19, 2023 (announced on May 30, 2024), one year and three months after starting my faculty member job.
May 27, 2024 I attend the Crustacean Society Mid-Year Meeting 2024 at Academia Sinica, Taiwan to present my research on ecotourism and parading shrimp.
April 2024 Here is my first cohort of 2309203 Under the Sea, my first general education course at Chulalongkorn University. This course covers everything about the ocean, ranging from ecology, medicine, cultural, and business that link to the Ocean.
WiN and his colleagues received "Paper of the Year" award by Journal of Zoology, Zoological Society of London, UK. in 2022
September 29, 2022 As a National Geographic explorer, WiN gave a public talk to general public at the "Postcards from Planet Possible" event organized by National Geographic Thailand at the Sustainability EXPO 2022, Thailand
April 1, 2022 WiN got a tenure track position at the Department of Marine Science, Faculty of Science, Chulalongkorn University, Thailand. In the picture, he was welcome the dean of Faculty of Science, the head department, and the faculty member representative.
After 17 years of my journey, I am now officially received a Ph.D. degree in Biology from UCLA.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Debra Shier and Prof. Greg Grether offered a Field Biology Quarter course for undergraduate students at UCLA. I was a teaching fellow for this class. We studied how Artificial Light at Night (ALAN) affects behaviors of two endangered species of kangaroo rat (Stephens' Kangaroo Rat and Dulzura kangaroo rat). The research site was in the Multi-Species Reserve in southwestern Riverside County, California, USA.
I was a guest speaker for graduate seminar in Marine Science and Technology, Faculty of Marine Technology, Burapha University, Thailand (Aug 20, 2020)
Passed my oral qualifying examination on March 2, 2020, one week before the attack of COVID-19.
I gave a talked entitled "Let's walk together: Investigation of parading behavior in shrimp and application of behavioral studies in ecotourism " at the 2nd Southern California Animal Behavior conference, UC San Diego, USA
Field work at Ubon Ratchathani, Thailand. If you look carefully on the bottom right of the photo, you will see several grain size animals. They are "parading shrimp".
May 26-30, 2019 I attended the Crustacean Society Mid-Year Meeting 2019 in Hong Kong, China. In this meeting. I gave oral and poster presentation.
